Join us at our annual Legacy Luncheon for the Parks!

Legacy Parks Foundation works to ensure that our community enjoys abundant recreational opportunities, natural beauty and open spaces, and that these assets exist for generations to come. To date we’ve raised nearly $11 million for parks and greenspace and added over 600 acres of parkland to the public park system. We are able do this work through the support of generous business partners and individuals like you!

We hope you will join with 1,000 business and civic leaders to celebrate our exceptional natural assets under a giant tent in a beautiful place with our compelling speaker:

ERIK WEIHENMAYER

Erik Weihenmayer is one of the most celebrated and accomplished adventurers in the world as the only blind climber in history to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Despite losing his vision at the age of 13, Erik has redefined what it means to be blind and has opened the eyes and minds of people around the world. In addition to summiting Everest in 2001, Erik has climbed the tallest peak on each of the seven continents, run marathons in Charlotte, Havana, and New York, completed adventure races - including the Arctic Team Challenge and Primal Quest - and he was the first blind person to complete the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race.

Erik co-founded No Barriers, a movement with the motto “What’s Within You Is Stronger Than What’s In Your Way.” The mission is to help all of us deal with challenges, to turn into the storm of life, face barriers head-on, embrace a pioneering and innovative spirit, and team up with great people to live rich in meaning and purpose. Erik continues to challenge himself to live a No Barriers Life and in September 2014 he kayaked the entire 277-miles of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.
